“I’m home!” Gerlinde called, pausing in the hall to pull off her shoes and grab a pair of slippers. “Welcome home!” Both her mother and father called back from the kitchen, and Aoi flew ahead to join them, eager to clean up. As Gerlinde went to deliver Eiko and Haruto to their aquarium and terrarium respectively, she could hear her parents’ laughter as the Swablu got to work. She’d take Aoi into the bath with her later to wash off her wings. Eiko happily dove to the depths of the aquarium, getting comfortable in her coral bed, while Haruto purred in the warmth of his heat lamp and began burrowing into the sand.
